White Ribbon is the world’s largest male-led movement to end men’s violence against women.
The White Ribbon Campaign is about recognising the positive role that men play in preventing violence against women. It fosters and encourages male leadership in the prevention of violence against women, based on the understanding that most men are not violent.
The White Ribbon Cup was established by the Inner West Domestic Violence Liaison Committee with West Harbour Rugby Union and Sydney University Rugby Union in 2011, and is played annually between West Harbour Rugby Union and Sydney University Rugby Union First Grade. It is a vehicle for players, coaches, managers and supporters to raise awareness of the White Ribbon campaign, and to also take the White Ribbon Oath, swearing never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
This is the fourth year West Harbour and Sydney University Rugby Union will play for the White Ribbon Cup. The match will be played at Concord Oval, Loftus Street Concord, kicking off at 3.00pm on Saturday 12 April 2014.
Entry is $15 for adults, with free entry for children aged 17 years of age and under.
If you or someone you know is experiencing violence call 1800 RESPECT for advice or support. In an emergency, call 000.
