Over the past week SUFC has been saddened to hear of the passing of two former players, Gavin Thomson and Sitiveni (Steve) Finau.
Gavin played 64 games for SUFC between 1960 to 1966 of which 31 were in 1st Grade. He was part of the 1962 Premiers team and in 1964 represented the Australian University side.
Sitiveni, Steve as he was more commonly known, played for SUFC while studying at University of Sydney, he was part of the Shute Shield winning side in 1968. He later completed his degree at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, majoring in International Economics.
Funeral arrangements for both Gavin and Steve will be shared when we know more.
