Following the success of our match with Northern Suburbs at the home of the Bowral Blacks last year, both Clubs have agreed to return to the Southern Highlands for the round 4 clash in 2018.
This is the third time in 4 years that SUFC will be playing a Shute Shield match at Eridge Park. Having built up a great relationship in recent years with Bowral Rugby Club we are pleased to be able to play their again in 2018.
Our Country Round has become a highlight on the SUFC calendar and is a fixture the players and staff really look forward to. It’s a great chance for local supporters to get to a game which they ordinarily would be unable to attend, while giving our Sydney supporters a chance to enjoy a weekend away with the family!
As a club we believe it is important for us to support country rugby and with many players from both clubs coming from similar rural communities of NSW this is a terrific way for us to showcase the Premier NSW Rugby competition to the locals.
We would encourage as many rugby supporters from both the City and Country to come out and watch some quality Shute Shield rugby in a fantastic setting on Saturday 28th April.
1st Grade’s match will be shown live on Channel 7TWO kicking off at 3.10pm
For those looking to enjoy a few drinks at the match, there is the opportunity to travel to and from Bowral by bus with fellow supporters and players. If you are interested please email [email protected] for more details.
All supporters are invited to join the teams at The Bowral Hotel following the match.
This year’s Country Round is proudly brought to you by new Premium Sponsor, Land Rover.
Please note: Normal Shute Shield match day fees apply. All SUFC members will also get access to this round game as part of their 2018 membership.
