In the start of what we hope to a long-standing tradition, our 2022 volunteer coaches were joined for dinner by former 1st Grade, 1st Colts and women’s premiership winning coaches.
On the night there was some wonderful speeches made by President, David Lyons, former SUFC President and current SUSF Chairman, David Mortimer AO, Buildcorp’s Tony Sukkar AM, John Coorey and Mark Schembri from St John’s College and former SUFC premiership winning Coach and Captain Chris Malone. As well as via video message from David Haigh, Robert Taylor and Billy Millard. All spoke with great emotion about the impact the Club and its people have had on their journey and how important the role of a coach and mentor is in shaping the direction of players on and off field journey.
Thanks once again to St John’s College for hosting the event and we look forward to seeing many of our former coaches back around the Club over the coming weeks leading into the finals.
