Tuesday night saw St Paul’s put a stop to St Andrew’s winning streak and claim the Rawson Cup with a 23-5 victory in front of a huge crowd at the SUFG. 

St Andrew’s have taken out the trophy for the past 5 years (and drew with St Johns in 2011) they went into the match as favourites, however St Paul’s were first to score and remained in the lead for the entire game. 

St Paul’s had 10 SUFC players in their starting team; Peter Fenwicke, Tom Osborne, Lachlan Argiris (captain), Jack Blair, Josh Sheridan, Hugh Summerhayes, Will Wennerbom, Theo Strang, Sean Anese and Guy Porter plus Sam Nery as reserve. 

St Andrew’s also had their fair share of familiar names in their team; Harry Johnson-Holmes, Zac Von Appen, Rory Suttor, George Lehmann, James Kane, Tom McFadyen, Ed Renton and Matt Cheong. 

St John’s claimed third place in the competition with their 32 – 24 win over Wesley earlier in the evening, Joe Schwager was part of the winning team, while Will Ridley, Thomas Willson, Jock Capel, Alex Macdonald and Evan Jenkins were in the Wesley team.
