Congratulations to Nick Phipps who has been awarded the Nigel C Barker Medal for sporting achievement from the University of Sydney Alumni Awards.
Nick is an Elite Athlete Program alumnus, Master of International Business graduate and professional rugby player. In 2017 he was named Sydney University Male Blue of the Year.
Nick has been a part of SUFC since 2007, winning 7 premierships in the blue and gold. He has also made 70 appearances for the Wallabies and played over 100 Super Rugby games. Including winning a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and playing in the Rugby World Cup final in 2015.
Nick told the University of Sydney his most influential person during his time as a student was David Mortimer AO. “The godfather of Sydney University Rugby has always been a friendly, passionate, gentleman over my 13 years at the club.”
