It comes with great excitement that after a thorough recruitment process, we are proud to announce that Nathan Charles has been appointed as our new Executive General Manager, replacing Jack Farrer.
Nathan returns to the club after spending 12 years in Perth, Western Australia, representing the Western Force, Bath, Clermont and the Wallabies. Since his retirement in 2018, Nathan has made a very successful transition into sports administration, with Nathan having worked his way into the role of Chief Executive Officer of RugbyWA for the last two years.
Nathan returns to the club having been a 5-time premiership winner at Sydney University (1 x Colts and 4 x Shute Shield), along with being a Sydney University Wallaby and SUFC look forward to welcoming Nathan back to our community.
SUFC president David Lyons said, “SUFC are always delighted to welcome back alumni of SUFC, alumni who share the values, intellect, and drive that our club has been built on. We believe that Nathan’s experience gained as Wallaby, SUFC Player and CEO of RugbyWA, has given him the tools that we believe will make him the perfect person to take our great club forward into the future.”
Sydney University Football Club would like to thank John Edwards and the RugbyWA Board in supporting Nathan through this transition as he returns to Sydney where he will be closer to his family.
Nathan will commence in the role early January 2023 and work closely with Operations, Marketing and Events Manager, Chelsea Brennan and Director of Rugby, Nick Ryan as well as the fulltime coaching staff to oversee all areas of the Club.
