Born in the rugged landscapes of New South Wales, Langford’s passion for rugby ignited at an early age. Despite not featuring prominently in school rugby, instead one morning waking up at Wesley College on the grounds of the University of Sydney and strolling down for a game of Rugby, Langford’s destiny was set.
From Club Rugby to International Stardom
In the early 1980s, Langford or ‘Langer’s’ as he is known, plied his trade in club rugby, representing Sydney University. His dominant performances didn’t go unnoticed. The national selectors soon came knocking, and Langford earned his first cap for the Wallabies. His debut against England in 1983 marked the beginning of a storied international career.
Wallaby Glory
Langford’s impact on the field was immense. As a lock forward, he epitomized strength, agility, and tactical acumen. From his debut until the twilight of his career, Langford donned the green and gold jersey with pride. Representing the Wallabies on 4 occasions as Wallaby #740.
