Early Days and Arrival at SUFC (2013):

  • Henry joined SUFC in 2013 having finished school at Trinity Grammar and commencing study at the University of Sydney.
  • In his debut year, he was a standout player for 1st Colts, showcasing his talent and dedication.

1st Grade Debut (2014):

  • In 2014, Henry made his 1st Grade debut during Round 2.
  • His commitment and skill on the field quickly earned him a regular place in 1st grade.

Representative Career:

  • Henry’s rugby journey extended beyond club rugby. He had a decorated representative career:
    • Aussie 7s: Represented Australia in the fast-paced world of sevens rugby.
    • NSW Waratahs: Wore the sky-blue jersey in the Super Rugby competition.
    • NSW Country Eagles and Sydney Stars: Showcased his abilities at the provincial level.
    • French Top 14: Spent a season with Lyon, competing in one of Europe’s premier rugby leagues.

Challenges and Triumphs:

  • 2017 Comeback:
    • Midway through the 2017 season, Henry returned to Australia and SUFC.
    • His resilience was evident as he overcame setbacks and injuries.
  • Colin Caird Shield (2017 and 2019):
    • Henry played a pivotal role in SUFC’s 2nd Grade victory over Eastwood at North Sydney Oval in 2017.
    • The 2019 triumph was particularly remarkable, as he defied the odds after suffering a horrendous leg injury.
  • Shute Shield Glory (2018 and 2022):
    • Part of the Shute Shield-winning teams in 2018 and 2022.
    • Returned in 2022 following a ruptured spleen injury.
