Did you know…….
That First grade scored the highest point score against Souths last weekend.
With 45 points scored, no other Shute Shield Club has scored more than this season.Thirteen times Uni has scored more then 45 in a game since 1991.The highest score against Souths is 62 in 2018.
Six of our seven teams won, and the only loss was 4th Grade 10-15. We scored two early tries against last years Finalist, until they kicked their 5th penalty goal late in the second half.
Two more players made their debut in the 1st XV game in Tom Bell and Dan Nelson. While 4 more played their first game for University this season, being Pat Calavassy, Tom Fenwicke, Jordan Mouscous and T.Scott who scored a try as well.
Our 3rd grade won 33-17 which included 5 tries. Four of the tries were scored by the front row, with Elijah Leota scored two, (Brock would be proud of 1, 2 and 3.)
We scored 181 points to Souths 115 and scored 29 tries to 14 in the 4 grade teams.
Although its not all good news . In the 7 rounds we have had 28 Yellow Cards. Grade has 17 and Colts 11.
Last game Ed King ran on to Forshaw Field for his 25th 1st grade game, well done Eddy King.
For those who remember Fizza’s Facts and Stats it doesn’t look like I have much to report the past three weeks and that’s because we have lost a lot of our older players who have moved on. As was the case 2016 when the club had some 9 players up from 2015 Colts Premiers. Having their first season at Uni in grade and the records went quite that year. As a result this year we have only three players that have made 100 games and a further 6 who have played 50 club games. And 97 players have played at least one grade game this season.
