Did you know:

Last Saturday I was asked when was the last time we lost all Colts games on the same day. Well it was 3rd June 2006, vs Eastwood at T.G.Millner Field. As far as two losses in a row in 1sts Colts, that was back in 2015 Round 12 & 13 vs Randwick and then Eastern Suburbs.

Our 3rd Grade seniors are on fire at the moment with the past 3 matches won to nil. In fact they have had only 12 points against them in 5 games.

As mentioned last week young Will Wennerbom, who is still eligible for Colts, reached his 100 points this year in just five club games. He needed just six to do it and got seven with a penalty right at the end of 4th Grade’s victory. Will now joins Cameron Lawrence with the “Quickest century in lower Grades”.

Have a thought for James Kane as he recorded 2 tries and 10 goals in 1st Grade’s big win over Gordon. But you see James was only one point away from Peter Phibbs 1951 record of “Most points in a game” (67 years). He was also 2 goals away from most goals in a 1st Grade game. But its not all that bad, because Christian Kagiassis did it in 2017 and 2016 season. So for the third year in a row Peter Phibbs record stays, for the moment.

With James’ big haul on the weekend (30 points) it took him to 67 1st Grade points this season and 686 career points since Colts.

Most clubs have some good wingers and SUFC has some of the best. On Saturday Cameron Lawrence ran onto the field to equal Nick Hagen’s lower Grade record of 75 in 122 games from 2000 to 2006. After scoring two tries in 3rd Grade and then another as a 2nd Grade replacement. Cameron now has 78 tries in 76 club games.

In a similar feat, Matt Dowsett scored 2 more tries in 2nd Grade last weekend, which takes him to 19 tries from only 13 club games.

Our 1st Grade were also only two tries short of “most tries in a game” with 13.

Harry Williams scored the Club’s 150th try this season with a touchdown in 3rd Grade’s big win. Our 4 Grade teams have scored 181 tries in the first five rounds.

Finally in Super Rugby, Bernard Foley kicked his 300th goal, (conversions/pen goals) for the Waratahs on Saturday night, while Paddy Ryan ran on for his 100th Super Rugby match.
