Did you know:

Last week I mentioned two come backs by Stu Dunbar and Aldy King. Well there is a third and its Cameron Lawrence, who only had 4 seasons with us (2010-2013). Let me tell you about Cam’s 4 seasons:

He was the highest point scorer in lower grades in 2012 with 246 points the 4th highest in the Club’s lower grade records.

Six times he scored 25 points or more in a game, with 30 being his best in 2012, with 4 tries and 5 goals.

He was the highest try scorer in 2012, with 25 in just 18 games.

Cameron scored 5 tries in a game in 2013 and on many occasions scored 4.

In his 71 games for the Club he scored 64 tries.

He has 649 points with 64 tries, 70 goals and 13 penalty goals making his 4 year average 162.25 points per season.

He is the owner of the quickest century in SUFC lower grade history, 104 points by round 5 vs Souths (12.5.2012) at the Forshaw Rugby Park, reaching it with 10 tries, 18 goals and 6 penalty.goals in only 5 games.

So welcome back Cameron (after a six year gap), you could be a little slower but much wiser and I have extra pen in my folder mate.

A milestone for our youngest Waratah, Harry Johnson-Holmes who became our 1700th Super Rugby cap for SUFC when he ran on last Saturday night.

Wingers are there to score tries right? Well since their Colts days these players (who are no longer with us due to Rep footy, injuries etc) have a proud record between them. Christian Kagiassis, 611 pts & 56 tries, Matthew Hood, 410 pts & 80 tries, Christian Yassmin, 302 pts & 60 tries, James Dargaville, 295 pts & 59 tries, Matt Narracott, 264 pts and 52 tries and Henry Clunies-Ross 250 pts & 50 tries.

These six players all played in Colts, lower grades and 1st Grade, but each of them had 4 or 5 seasons at Uni before moving on.

The above totals are 2,132 points and a massive 357 tries. Which averages at 59.50 tries and 355.33 points each!
