We are thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative for the 2025 season. The New Jersey Challenge will replace the Jersey Calcutta, offering business owners and individuals a unique opportunity to gain exposure and support our beloved club.

What is the Jersey Challenge?

As the owner of a 1st grade positional jersey, you will sponsor a 1st grade position for the entire year. Whether you are a business or an individual, this is your chance to be a part of the SUFC family in a special way. Here’s how it works:

  • Weekly voting: 3,2,1 voting will be provided each week from 1st Grade coaches. With positions (not individuals) collecting points based on their performances.
  • Your Logo on Team Lists (home games): If you choose, your business logo will be placed next to your sponsored jersey number on the team lists each week. See example below.
  • Game Day Announcements: At home games, every time your Jersey scores, it will be announced. For example, “Try scored by number 15, sponsored by [Your Business Name].” Name can be withheld for individuals if not consented.
  • Round 4, 8 and 12 leaderboard prizes: The Jersey Challenge leader will receive a bottle of SUFC Gin after rounds 4, 8 and 12. With the penultimate winner announced following round 18, at the End of Season awards on August 9.
  • Ongoing announcements: Updates with positional leaders will be announced in the SUFC newsletter, providing additional value to the Jersey Challenge owners.
  • Personalised Jersey: Every Jersey Challenge owner will receive a personalised SUFC playing jersey.
  • Jersey presentation: Present your position their jersey for an agreed Match Day.
  • Support SUFC: All money raised from this initiative goes directly back into the rugby program, helping SUFC continue to strive for world-renowned excellence.

 

Major prize

Following the conclusion of the season the winner will be announced and will receive an amazing and unique grand prize. The prize will include a private hospitality package for the winner and up to 10 guests at an SUFC home game in 2026. A perfect way to entertain business associates or friends while enjoying a great Saturday watching the rugby. SUFC will host the winner and up to 10 guests at private home match day in 2026. This will include:

    • Charcuterie platters
    • Drinks Package (Beer, Wine, Gin and Soft drinks)
    • A private appearance from an SUFC player
    • Behind the scenes dressing room tour (post-match)

This initiative is designed to drive connection within our community and provide valuable exposure to both individuals and businesses in our community.

How to Purchase Your Jersey Sponsorship

  2. Visit the Online Platform: Go to the Helping Hand Group website – https://event.gives/sufc25/items
  3. Select Your Jersey: Browse through the available jerseys and select the one you want to sponsor.
  4. Check the Price: Jerseys range between $750 and $1000, based on historical scoring patterns and the exposure provided throughout the season.
  5. Buy Now: This is a ‘buy now’ price with no bidding involved. You must act quickly to secure your favourite position for 2025 Jersey Challenge. If you have previously registered on Helping Hand Group, ‘login’ or you will have to register your details.
  6. Complete Your Purchase: Follow the prompts to purchase the jersey and make your payment immediately.

  • In the last 10 years, fullback has been the highest point scorer five times.
  • In 2024, Fullback was the top scorer in 1st grade. Inside centre (12) was awarded best back and flanker (7) was awarded best forward, best and fairest and 1st grade top try scorer. Therefore, will attract the highest price, with an increased chance of winning the major prize at seasons end.
