Congratulations to SUFC’s 2023 USYD Blue & Gold Recipients! (Along with a few very recognisable faces)!

Congratulations to Daniel Botha, who received a 2023 USYD Blue!

Dan debuted for the NSW Waratahs during Round 2 of the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific Competition. He went on to play 9 times for the state side.
At the conclusion of the Super Rugby season, the Bachelor of Commerce student returned to play for University and ran on 5 times in 1st Grade in the late stages of the season. He also recently represented Sydney University at the World University Rugby Invitational Tournament in France.
Congrats Dan!

Congratulations Troy Isidro, who received a 2023 USYD Gold!

After playing for the Club, Troy transitioned into the role of Team Manager with ease in 2012. Taking on the difficult task of managing both the 4th and 5th Grade squads, Troy has spent 12 year’s supporting the players and coaches to ensure they are prepared for game days each week. A job that requires hours of work not only on Saturday’s but also during the week at training and providing essential administrative support. Troy’s commitment extends beyond team management, as he always volunteers to assist the Club on game days, kit distribution nights, and cleanup. Nothing is too much trouble for Troy and he does it all with a huge smile on his face.
His diligence in organising and fostering teamwork and camaraderie within the lower grades of the Club have allowed his teams to thrive and during his time with SUFC, 4th and 5th Grade have won 7 Premierships between them.

A special mention has to be made to Leonie Lum!

Leonie received her Gold for her services to @sydunisport however her dedication extends far beyond the confines of a typical 9-5 job.
Leonie’s role coordinating the Elite Athlete Program at SUSF means she creates strong relationships with many of our athletes and she’s there in the stands every Saturday cheering on our teams. Thank you Leonie for all of your hard work & love for this Club!
